Jazz/Musical Theatre/Tap
Attire:
» No loose fitting clothing!
» Must wear proper dance-wear ie. jazz pants, capris, fitted shirt, half top etc.
» Hair pulled back off face.
Shoes:
» Jazz and Musical Theatre; Bloch Split Sole slip on Gare booties (black). Recreational students may choose lace up jazz shoes.
» Tap; oxford style tap shoes (black) with Capezio taps for ages 8 to adult; patent leather tap shoes for ages 3 to 7.
Hip Hop
Attire:
» Any active wear is appropriate; no jeans.
» Hair pulled back; no hats.
Shoes:
» Dance sneakers or indoor shoes only (absolutely no street shoes).
» Turns and Technique
» It is very important for the teacher to be able to see your legs, there fore please refrain from wearing long pants and baggy clothing.
» Ballet attire and shorts are appropriate. Jazz shoes or ballet slippers please. No jazz sneakers please!!
Ballet - girls
Attire:
» All levels hair must be in a bun.
» Primary & Pre-primary; short-sleeved pink body suite. White ankle socks or white tights in colder weather.
» Grade One & Grade Two; tank style pale blue body suite. White ankle socks or ballet pink tights in colder weather.
» Grade Three and Four; tank style mulberry body suite; ballet pink tights
» Grade Five; tank style navy body suite; ballet pink tights.
» Grade 6 - 8; any classic style body suit in a solid color; ballet pink tights; matching color chiffon full circle skirt.
» Majors; Black or Navy sleeveless bodysuit (no velvet or fancies). For exams please see Mrs.Scherger.
Shoes:
» Primary to Grade Five; pink Ballet slippers. No Split Soles please!
» Grade 6 - 8; pink Split Sole slippers.
» Majors; pink Ballet slippers. No Split Soles. Exam students will also require Pointe shoes
Ballet - boys
Attire:
» Pre-primary to Grade Five; Any solid color shorts; any solid color fitted T-shirt.
Shoes:
» Black Ballet Slippers. No Split Soles please.
» Note: because of the precision and care taken to ensure ballet is thorough and safe, proper attire is a must.
