ASHLEY SWEETT is an industry leading dance artist who lives and works on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations now known as Vancouver, BC. She has collected 20 years of experience working locally and abroad as a professional dance artist, industry leading teacher, choreographer and adjudicator. She grew up attending the Langley Fine Arts school as a dance major while also training as a competitive dancer. By the time she was in her teens, she was performing professionally and working as a young choreographer. Her post-secondary studies include dance programs such as Modus Operandi; improv and acting with The Second City Conservatory; and a variety of experience obtained while living in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto and Vancouver. Ashley has workshoped and choreographed for training programs and performance groups such as the L.A.X Dance Experience, House Of Jazz (UK), Team Canada (2019 IDO World Championships), Lamon Dance Company, Source Dance Company, Helix Dance Company, Harbour Dance Centre, Luminesque Dance, The Cecchetti Society of Canada, Burnaby Skating Club and a wide range of performing arts facilities throughout North America and Australia. She has worked as a rehearsal director for both Heather Dotto and the Warehaus Dance Collective. Her work as a choreographer, producer and artistic director has been presented throughout Vancouver including a residency with Small Stage 2018 for Dancing On The Edge, Small Stage Summer Series and the Robson Street Business Association, Sweett Moves Summer Jam, Bated Breath and multiple productions with The Lovers Cabaret. Her choreography can be seen in music videos for Calvyn Cass, Soul Push, and Hey Ocean. Ashley has also assisted choreographers such as Kelly Konno on FOXTV’s ‘Lucifer’ and Jen Oleksiuk for Netflix’s ‘Adventures of Sabrina’. Other notable dance credits include film/tv networks such as NBC, Netflix, Disney, Nickelodeon and Alliance Films; recording artists Michael Buble, Sarah Mclachlan, and Hey Ocean as well as renowned choreographers such as Mandy Moore, Jillian Myers, Jeff Mortenson (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist), Heather Laura Gray, Joe Tulio (The J Team), Heather Dotto (Small Stage), Liz Tookey (Times of India Awards), Jocelyn Peden (PRP Productions, 2010 Olympics), Vanessa Young (The Lovers Cabaret), Paul Becker, Kelly Konno, Rosero Moccoy and Jen Olesiuk (Netflix). Most recently, Ashley has stepped into a forever role as a mom which is her favorite job and proudest creation. She continues to be grateful that her passion for the arts has turned into an ever-evolving career and lifestyle.
